causing people to fall ill and often die. Countries of the developing world, like India,
face the gravest threat. The Centre for Science and Environment calls upon the government,
civil society, farmers organisations and agricultural scientists to join hands in
preventing an epidemic of cancers and fatal disorders of the immune system by drawing up a
scientific policy on pesticides use and their eventual phasing out.
