Green Schools Network Meeting
The teachers of the Green Schools Network
met on 28th April 2006 for the first network meeting. Thanks to all the teachers who made
it in the sweltering Delhi heat and apologies to all of you for the inadequate seating.
Around 125 teachers were present for the meeting from all corners of Delhi. The teachers
were introduced to the various facets of the Network, including its membership and
privileges. Interestingly, there were many teachers, who had already registered themselves
as Green Schools.
The teachers learnt about the online
registration process for the membership of the network. The Data Reporting System was also
showcased, wherein the schools could put in data collected in the school audit.
The activity sheet, which would be available
to all network members was also showcased. There were many teachers, which had already
started work on the activity sheet. In fact a few had come to the meeting with activity
sheets completed by students.
The teachers were generally positive about
the network and the Green Schools Programme. In the end, many teachers individually
clarified their doubts and problems from resource persons from the Centre for Science and
Environment.
