FEATURE SERVICES |
||
The Media Resource Centre of the Centre for
Science and Environment offers newspapers and other media organisations a fortnightly
dispatch CSE/Down to Earth Feature Service. The features were first started
by our late founder Shri Anil Agarwal as a science information service. Since then we have
been reaching out to media organisations, national and regional, and providing them free
to use topical news stories and opinion pieces by experts on hotly debated issues of
environment, science and health. And through the media to the masses. The features are
sourced from the fortnightly magazine Down to Earth. The sharply edited, easy-to-reproduce features and news briefs, in particular, closely examine technological developments in the areas of ecology, energy, health, industry, agriculture, pollution, community-based initiatives and water management. And, more significantly, they explore the links between these areas and between people working on the issues at the macro level and those operating at the grassroots. As CSE has been working in these areas since their inception in the 1980s, discerning readers find that the service is not yet another development debate. They discover that it provides a comprehensive and invigorated Southern perspective, with a view to promote equitable and democratic global governance. The realpolitik behind national and international negotiations also stands exposed. The current features are segregated into three distinct sections. Hindi Feature Service
As mentioned above the features are free to use. However, in order know whether our feature service is useful to our subscribers we insist that subscribers send us the clippings of the stories used by them. We also insist on acknowledgements to our writers and credit to CSE/Down to Earth Feature Services.
