A two-day
workshop from Oct. 3-4 at India Habitat Centre will focus on the protection of urban water
bodies in India. The workshop, organized by the Natural Resource Management unit of the
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), will formally launch CSE's urban wetlands
campaign.
The two-day workshop, chaired by Prof
A Vaidyanathan and CSE director Sunita Narain, will bring together 10 people who have
filed Public Interest Litigations to protect urban wetlands, interested individuals and
organizations. The workshop will articulate legal,conservation, institutional, technical,
perspectives on urban wetlands issues. A press conference will follow the workshop. All
those interested in urban wetlands issues are welcome to participate.
