Head of laboratory: Senior scientist, with a doctorate in analytical chemistry, well-versed in use and analysis of data from analytical instruments. Must have about 12 years experience in a laboratory, including 4-5 years at managerial level. Experience in ambient and source level pollution-monitoring will help. The work involves day to day leadership of the group and personal involvement in the research programme. But more important for us is your track-record in doing quality research and experience in dissemination of research findings. Research Associates (2): Msc/M.Tech in Analytical/ Applied Chemistry with about 6-7 years on-hands experience in laboratory work, well-versed in handling instruments like the GC, HPLC, NDIR and capable of conducting analytical tests independently. Computer literacy is desirable. Our salaries will match the best in academic and other research institutions.

SENIOR COORDINATORS TO MANAGE ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMMES The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is an established policy research institution based in New Delhi. CSE needs senior professionals to coordinate its different programmes. Our coordinators are part of our senior management team; they are knowledgeable and skilled professionals who are also managers and team leaders; they understand programme planning, scheduling and believe in ensuring quality. We work within a tight deadline culture and need senior colleagues who share our commitment to bringing about change through knowledge based activism. We need coordinators for the following programmes: Health and Environment unit: To research the impact of environmental degradation on public health from waterborne diseases, vector-borne to air pollution and cancers. You have a science background, preferably medical science, but with a keen interest in communicating research and building a network with doctors and researchers across the country. Poverty and Environment unit: To coordinate research on rural ecological regeneration programmes and the governance structures that enable communities to take action. You have a social science background but with interest in policy research and advocacy. Work involves travel and coordination of networking, organising meeting, web-based databases etc. River Pollution unit: A research and advocacy programme to study the state of water pollution and to network with affected communities and researchers to press for policy changes. You have a background in policy research, preferably a scientific background. Work involves travel and coordination of networking, organising meetings, web-based databases etc. For all positions: You have a minimum 10 years in research, journalism or activism and are self-driven. You must have management experience and most all an ability to deal with multiple tasks and undertake multidisciplinary research. Research on Global Environmental Negotiations |

The Centre for Science and Environment, is an
established research institution based in New Delhi. Our programme on Global Environmental
Governance does policy research and advocacy on international conventions and institutions
from climate change to trade policies to push for democracy in international
negotiations. We need colleagues who have interest in working on environmental issues,
professional qualification and most of all, a drive and commitment to take on tough issues
and tough negotiators. Writing skills and ability to comprehend scientific material are a

Centre for Development and Environment Policy Indian Institute of Management Calcutta needs Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) and Post-Doctoral Research Fellows (PDRFs) The Centre for Development and Environment Policy (CDEP) at IIM Calcutta has been established with the purpose of acting as a platform for interdisciplinary research, training and professional interaction in crucial policy issues related to development and environment. The CDEP is looking for a number of young and energetic professionals with deep interest in policy research related to development and environment, at both local and global levels. Job Description : Applications are invited for positions
of Junior Research Fellow(s) and Post Doctoral Research Fellow(s). These are full-time
positions with a consodilated stipend and a fixed 2-year term. The selected candidates
will have the challenging task of undertaking collaborative research and help the CDEP
faculty members in the publications and training activities in one or more of the
following areas on which the Centres activities are presently focussed. These areas
are: Compensation: The appointment of the JRFs and PDRFs would be made with a consolidated stipend. For the JRFs the amount of the stipend will be fixed in the range of Rs 7,000 to 9,000 per month. Candidates having only MA/MSc/M.Tech/MBA or equivalent qualifications will be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs 7,000. For others with higher qualifications or proven research output, a higher stipend may be considered. In the case of the candidates for PDRFs, those with a fresh doctorate would be offered a monthly stipend of Rs 12,000. For candidates with better qualification, experiences and publications a higher stipend may be considered. On Campus Accommodation: Successful candidates will have the option of availing on campus accommodation in the post-graduate hostels at reasonable costs. The IIM Calcutta campus is located in a picturesque site on the Diamond Harbour Road at Joka near Calcutta. Positions will be filled up as soon as suitable candidates are found. Only shortlisted
