Dear Ms.Usha

Iam really shocked to learn that the dedicated and dynamic environmentalist Anil Agarwal is no more. Inspite of his precarious health condition, it is really amazing how he pulled on which his crusade for a better environment all these years.   It is a great loss to the country.

We heard this news this morning when we were attending a workshop on implementation of Montreal Protocol with specific reference to protection of ozone layer and elimination of Ozone Depleting Substances. Smt. Usha Chandrasekhar, Director ozone cell, Ministry of Environment of Forests, New Delhi, Mr. H.S. Brahma, Principal Secretary, Environment and Forests, Govt. Of AP and a host of environmentalists, industrialists, media personnel were present.  We all observed a one minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.  May Down to Earth family continue the fight with renewed vigour. CSE family,

Please accept my deepest sympathy on sad demise of Shree Anil Agarwal. India has lost a great environmentalist and a wonderful human being.
My little interaction with him at IIT, Delhi and Nimbi Village, Jaipur, gave me opportunity to meet a noble person and disciplinarian who remained adhered to the principle.

Let us fulfill dreams of environment friendly society by contributing our best on the way he was trodding. May God Bless the Departed Soul in Peace and give strength to his family members and CSE family.

With sincere and deepest sympathy,

Dear CSE Team

JOINING CSE AT THIS HURTING TIME  - PATRICK A  KHAMADI

I have just learnt with deep shock the death of one of my academic and natural resource mentor.    You may never know it but Anil was in may ways a person I looked to in the area of environment and development issues.  His practical and realistic way touched me so very much to this day.

While studying at JNU, I meet Anil and his associate Kumar, both of whom I was very inspired by their very visionary way of looking at issues. This way of looking at life and issues has continually helped me so very much and I am respected in the areas I provide Strategic Institutional Development Consultancy, courtesy of the principles ANIL and you adhere to.

May you all be comforted at this very hard time.  Please do pass my heart empathy to the family.

May our LORD JESUS strengthen you at this time.  May the comforting presence of Jesus Christ be with you

In Sorrow with you all
