frequency of hits of earth quake is rising in India . Is there any statistics
available on this conclusion ? .Recently a news paper - may be The Hindustan Times
published that data.In case if you have any data on this subject could you please
send me accross ?
A. You are right Hindustan Times (New
Delhi) dated 31st Jan 2001 had published statistical data on rising earthquakes in India.
We also have statistical data on rising earthquakes across the world provided by US
Geological Survey National Earthquake Information centre, Washington. Our fortnightly
newsmagazine Down To Earth had an Analysis on Earthquakes.
This also has some information on this aspect.
Besides this we have some interesting
articles on this aspect. Please send us your mailing address so that we can post these
articles and data to you.
Q. I am very impressed with your website and the
work you do. My College would like to twin
with a school or college in a town or village in India, perhaps in the zone affected by
the recent earthquake in Gujarat. We would
like to get involved with environmental projects and would be grateful if you could help
us with this long-term goal, or let us know who could help.
