has encountered several cases where local communities are leading the fight against
large-scale pollution in their region. Local communities are usually severely handicapped
in their efforts because of the lack of specific scientific information to present to the
government and courts. Voluntary groups and communities need technical assistance and
scientific information to fight pollution. One
of the main objectives of CSE's Pollution Monitoring Laboratory is to empower such
anti-pollution campaigners across the country with scientific information that can be
produced in courts. The CSE Laboratory undertakes scientific testing of pollutants at
no-profit, no-loss basis for communities and NGOs. |
